Tart by Sugardough opened at Shelter Hall in April 2021. Right on Brighton beach, Shelter Hall is Brighton’s seafront food market with 7 kitchens led by Sussex chefs, a craft beer, wine and cocktail bar and live music. It is open from 8.00am to late 7 days a week.

At Tart by Sugardough you will find local coffee made by specialist baristas, the best Sugardough sweet and savoury pastries and stunning mini cakes and tarts. Tart by Sugardough is all about fun modern British flavours, quality handmade food that is local & seasonal. Plus, the best coffee on the beach.

Open 7 days a week all year round it is the place to get your lemon meringue twice baked croissants,  ham, gruyere & seeded mustard croissants and the new Puff Tarts. Based on the traditional French pissaladière – these delicious tarts are baked on handmade puff pastry and topped with modern British flavours. And of course, there will also be the best mini cakes & sweet tarts available all day and evening.

Tart by Sugardough is one of 6 independent food businesses in the communal food hall. There is also an introducer kitchen. Our fabulous neighbours are Caught by Crab Shack, Ox Block by Kenny Tutt, Zest by Hanoi Kitchen, Pan by Lost Boys Chicken and Amalfi by VIP. Customers can order food from any of the operators – choose your favourite or mix and match – eat at Shelter Hall or on the beach.

Sugardough’s co-owners opened the Bakery in Hove in 2009 and their Restaurant in Brighton’s Lanes in 2015.
